Montgomery, AL – [May 1, 2025] — The YMCA of Greater Montgomery is thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of a brand-new competitive 32 system Esports Lounge at the Midtown YMCA, set to open this fall. This dynamic new space is part of our continued effort to adapt to the evolving interests of our community and provide safe, engaging, and forward-thinking opportunities for youth and families.
The Esports Lounge will be much more than just a place to play games—it will be a hub for innovation, teamwork, and connection. Designed with cutting-edge technology including the latest gaming PCs and consoles, the space will serve as the foundation of a brand new YMCA Esports Program that emphasizes skill-building, leadership, and digital literacy.
A Place to Play, Learn, and Celebrate
In addition to being a home base for a variety of competitive gaming leagues, tournaments, and STEAM programs, the Esports Lounge will also:
- Host site for high school esports teams.
- Host birthday parties and special events, offering a fresh and modern party experience.
- Engaging space for teen collaboration, giving them a positive, structured environment to connect with friends.
- Provide workshops and training sessions that focus on team-building, communication, and digital skills.
- Introduce youth to career pathways in technology, game design, and beyond.
