Camp Ryne
About Camp Ryne
This camp is named in memory of Ryne Odom. In February 2010, Ryne made the decision to join the Navy. Ryne joined the SWCC division which is a part of the Navy Seals. He had to train and swim at a grueling pace. In April 2010, his hard work paid off and he received a SWCC contract. It was such an accomplishment. He was to report on August 11th for basic training in Chicago, IL. This departure, however, would never come. On June 18, 2010 mere months before he was set to make the greatest change of his life, Ryne lost his life in the Alabama River doing both what he did best and what he most loved to do, swimming. As a result of this tragedy, family and friends came together to establish a camp for children who, without help, would not have the means or opportunity to go to camp and enjoy the outdoors or especially, have the amazing experience of swimming in a lake.

Camp Ryne is made available to campers free of charge. These children, without the help of generous donors, our help, would not have the means or opportunity to go to camp and enjoy the outdoors and have the amazing experience of swimming in a lake. Over 400 campers have attended camp with the help of our generous donors. Please consider contributing to help campers attend this summer.
