YMCA of Greater Montgomery Gives Back
Carrie Mason, daughter of Art Mason, our Camp Chandler Property Director holds a special place in our heart. Some years ago, Carrie was diagnosed with Lyme Disease and has since had many complications. The Camp Chandler family has always been so kind to gather resources and create magic moments for she and her family. This past Christmas, Carrie and her family shared that they had a need for a vehicle compatible with an electric wheelchair and that Carrie would really love to go to Disney World. The YMCA Camp Chandler family collected contributions and collected just over $9,000 to send Carrie and her family to Disney World and provide funding towards purchasing the vehicle they need. Carrie and her family built wonderful memories together during a special time thanks to the generosity of so many.
Carrieās mom said, āArthur and I would like to say thanks to all the Y family for everything you have done for us the past four years. We could not have made it this far without your help. Thanks for your prayers and your generous gifts. Saying the simple words āthanksā does not seem to be enough for all the many things yaāll have done for our family. We are grateful that Arthur works for a Christian organization like the Y of Montgomery!”
