More about Matt:
Matt Bostic, born and raised in Indiana, started playing basketball when he was 10 years old. He quickly grew to love the sport and continued playing through college. During his college career, cancer took the life of his biggest fan – his mother Joannie. College is also where he eventually met his wife Andrea. His own passion for life and basketball led him to roles as a basketball coach and a youth pastor for several years in MD. While his wife was pregnant with their 4th child, a boy, Matt broke a Guinness World record for the most 3-point basketball shots made in 24hrs. They aptly named their oldest son Trey. It was at this point that Matt felt compelled to start the non profit organization called Shoot For Life in honor of his mother. SFL has since worked in states across the country using school presentations, speaking engagements, a second World Record attempt, and three-point shooting tournaments called “Trey’s for Treatment” to raise money on behalf of cancer patients. Matt, Andrea, and their 6 children currently reside in Alabama where he served as youth pastor and now the site pastor for Centerpoint Fellowship in Pike Road, AL. SFL has grown into Shoot For Life Ministries where it continues to use basketball to bless and encourage others to shoot for life.
