YMCA Lifeguard Certification and Training

Become a Certified Lifeguard with the YMCA

Gain the Skills, Confidence, and Certification to Keep Others Safe in the Water

Lifeguards play a vital role in keeping their community safe by preventing, recognizing, and responding to water-related emergencies. To work at most aquatic facilities, lifeguard certification is required, and many employers prefer American Red Cross certification. The YMCA of Greater Montgomery offers this 2-year certification course, which includes hands-on training and classroom instruction. In as little as 30 hours, participants learn essential lifesaving skills, preparing them for real-world aquatic safety.
