FORE OUR COMMUNITY

The YMCA of Greater Montgomery had a vision for a better Montgomery for its citizens. Although our city’s progression presented challenges, both black and white residents of Montgomery knew the importance of establishing a YMCA in the African American community. Out of this desire for community, the Cleveland Avenue YMCA was founded in 1947.

The Historic Cleveland Avenue YMCA is steeped in the rich history of making a positive difference in the lives of children and families. The Y is, and always will be, dedicated to serving the community for ALL.

With your help, our goal is to raise $150,000 to continue to address the many needs in our community. The Golf Classic and Game Day has helped more than 35,000 youth and families through the YMCA of Greater Montgomery Annual Support Campaign.
