The YMCA of Greater Montgomery is a nonprofit health and human services organization dedicated to helping individuals reach their full potential in spirit, mind, and body. We recognize that many children and families in our community would benefit from our programs and services but may face financial barriers. To support these families, we offer financial assistance based on a sliding fee scale. Thanks to the generosity of Y contributors, we strive to ensure the Y remains accessible to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE APPLICATION

Eligibility

Eligibility for financial assistance is based on household income and the number of qualified dependents. Assistance is granted according to financial need, and all fee details are kept confidential. To qualify for assistance with childcare programs, including the Early Childhood & Youth Development Center or Y Afterschool, adults in the household must be employed or full-time students. All applicants must contribute to program fees to foster a sense of ownership and pride.

Special Circumstances

Each application is reviewed individually. If there are special circumstances, you may provide a written explanation and supporting documentation. To ensure accurate assessment and assist those in greatest need, additional documentation may be requested. Eligibility for financial assistance may vary by program or location. Some information may be shared confidentially between branches to ensure the best review and support for your family.

How to Apply

To submit your completed application:
1. Complete the application accurately.
2. Attach a copy of the first page of your latest tax return.
3. Include any applicable documents (photocopies only).
4. Additional documentation may be requested.
5. Failure to provide required documentation may delay or void your application.
6. Submit your application and documents to your local YMCA branch.

    Each year, over 400 volunteers and staff participate in our Annual Support Campaign to raise funds, ensuring everyone, regardless of background, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. Donations provide financial assistance for kids and families in need, supporting programs that address community needs. 100% of donations directly fund life-changing experiences in Montgomery and Elmore Counties.
