The YMCA offers inclusive sports programs for individuals of all abilities. Designed to promote physical, mental, and emotional growth, our adaptive sports programs provide a safe and supportive environment where participants can develop skills, build confidence, and experience the joy of sports. We cater to children and adults with intellectual, physical, or emotional disabilities, offering a variety of sports tailored to meet each athlete’s unique needs. YMCA Adaptive Programs

TopSoccer

The YMCA TOPSoccer program is designed to promote the physical, mental, and emotional growth of children with special needs through soccer. Open to children ages 4-19 with intellectual, emotional, or physical disabilities, the program provides an inclusive, supportive, and safe environment where participants can develop soccer skills. TOPSoccer fosters social interaction, builds self-confidence, and allows kids of diverse abilities to experience the joy of playing soccer in a fun, structured setting. This program is run out of the Emory Folmar YMCA Soccer Complex.

Volunteer Side Kick

The YMCA TOPSoccer program is designed to foster the physical, mental and emotional growth of kids with special needs through soccer. Each TOPSoccer Participant will be paired with a Sidekick (a buddy volunteer) during training or games. Sidekicks must be 12 years of age or older and commit to all sessions. This will help create a bond between the player and the sidekick making the player more comfortable. Please consider being a sidekick and making an impact on a child’s life!

Miracle League

The Miracle League is designed to promote the physical, mental, and emotional growth of Individuals with special needs through baseball.  For athletes ages 3 to 65+ with intellectual, emotional, or physical disabilities.  The program provides an inclusive, supportive, and safe environment experience at no cost to families. Each athlete is paired with a volunteer “buddy” who aids on and off the field, ensuring every participant can fully engage in the game. The program will play and practice at Edward Thompson Park in Montgomery, Alabama.
