Since 1978, the Montgomery YMCA Barracudas have been the River Region’s premier competitive swim team. We offer year-round USA/YMCA Swimming for youth of all skill levels, from beginners to national qualifiers. Our program builds strong athletes with commitment, character, and a positive attitude. Through expert coaching, we help swimmers develop skills, fitness, self-discipline, and confidence, empowering them to reach their full potential in and out of the water.

Bronze – Learn the basics of all four strokes and competitive swimming.
Silver – Focus on racing, endurance, and efficiency.
Gold – Train at a higher intensity to develop elite competitors.
Platinum – Our top-tier group, preparing swimmers for high-level competition, including college.

Each year, over 400 volunteers and staff participate in our Annual Support Campaign to raise funds ensuring everyone, regardless of background, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. Donations provide financial assistance for kids and families in need, supporting programs that address community needs. 100% of donations directly fund life-changing experiences in Montgomery and Elmore Counties.
