SWIM LESSONS
Swimming is a life skill as well as great exercise and a challenging sport. Y’s offer swim lessons (for all ages), family swim, competitive swim teams, and more so we can all safely enjoy the pleasures of an aquatic environment.
SWIM LESSON TYPES
Group lessons are offered in a group setting, 2 days per week with 8 classes per session. The class ratio of 1:7. This is a great format for easy learners. We have classes for people of all ages; from infants to seniors. Choose from mid-day, evening, and weekend swimming class schedules designed to fit your family’s busy life.

This course familiarizes young children to the water and prepares them for future preschool courses. It is not designed to teach children to become good swimmers or to survive in the water on their own, rather its purpose is to teach parents safety information and techniques to help orient their children to the water. This course is designed for children ages 6 months to about 3 years to be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Preschool Aquatics is an integral part of our Water Safety program. The primary objective is to promote the developmentally appropriate learning of fundamental water safety and aquatic skills to young children ages 3-5. This program is a great lead into our Youth Program.

Our youth program teaches aquatic and personal water safety skills in a logical progression. We offer four levels that progress with the participants growing skill level. Throughout the levels, participants build on their skills to learn various propulsive movements on the front, back, and side. Participants will learn to refine their strokes and build endurance. This program is offered to children and teenagers 6 to 12-year-olds.

This course is offered to ages 12 and up. It is a beginner course for adults that have little or no experience in the water. The course is designed to acclimate adults to be in the water and teach them skills that enhance their comfort level. The course will focus on skills such as face submersion, floating, rhythmic breathing, propulsion, and stroke development. We like to inform participants that it is very hard work learning to swim as an adult. It takes dedication and time in order to build the necessary skills to learn to swim.
The Sessions are grouped into Tuesdays and Thursdays for the weekday classes and Saturdays for weekend classes. Choose any of the times from Session 1 that works for you and your family. Session 2 swim lessons open a week after Session 1 swim lessons end.
