Kids playing in a youth basketball league at the YMCA of Greater Montgomery

Youth Basketball at the YMCA of Greater Montgomery

About Our Youth Basketball Programs

Building Skills and Friendships

Basketball was invented at a YMCA in 1891, and more than a century later, the Y is still where kids learn the game the right way. Our coaches teach the fundamentals (passing, shooting, dribbling, and defense) alongside the Y values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, with physical fitness built into every practice. Players make friends, stay active, and build the kind of confidence that carries off the court.
