ABOUT THE BELL ROAD YMCA

Established in 1985, The Bell Road YMCA is the “flagship” of the YMCA of Greater Montgomery. This location is a social network of great people in your community from all walks of life.

When you are involved with the Y, you help bring about lasting personal and social change. Whether you want to nurture the potential of children and teens, improve your or your family’s health and well-being, or give back and support your neighbors, your involvement with the Bell Road YMCA will positively impact those in your community.

The facility provides amenities and programs to satisfy your every want and need for the whole family.

OUR FEATURED PROGRAMS

2023-2024 Home School PE

Homeschool PE is a physical education class for homeschoolers on Monday Wednesday and Fridays from 2-3pm. Participants do receive credit for these classes. Mondays and Fridays the class will take place in the group exercise studio. Wednesdays the class will take place in the pool.

There is a break during the winter, from December 18th to January 5th, there will not classes.

YFL Spring Flag Football

The YFL – YMCA Flag Football League provides players the opportunity to learn the basics of football in a developmental environment. The leagues main focus is on having fun and teaching fundamentals. The YMCA is proud to partner with the NFL Flag Football League.

Tennis Lessons Ages 5 & up for Homeschool program-November Session.

Health & Wellness

Our positive commitment to programs that strengthen the spirit, mind and body is evident in our fitness programs. Equipment orientation, Personal Fitness Consultation and Fitness testing are free to members. They are great ways to start your journey to better health and well-being. We offer options for personal training.

Spanish Class

At the end of the ESL course students will have acquired a novice proficiency level, which means they will be able to handle a variety of basic communicative tasks necessary for survival in a Spanish speaking context.

Self Defense For Women

Learn Self Defense with Sensei Melvin Lucas- 3rd Degree Blackbelt, 4 time Kickboxing Champion, Triumph Combat Fighter, MMA Fighter and Mix Martial Arts Instructor and Trainer.

The focus of the program is to familiarize yourself with the fundamental techniques of self defense derived from the urban environment form of Jutsu referenced as Urban Combat.

Aquatics

We offer an outdoor pool complex that includes a 25-meter lap pool and a separate kiddie pool. There is a large pool deck with a separate shaded “picnic area” and sunbathing lounge chairs. Our year-round indoor aquatics complex has 3 separate pools including a 6 lane, 25-yard lap pool. We have an indoor waterpark and a leisure pool for little ones.

BASKETBALL

Our basketball court is a great way to have fun, meet friends and get fit!

Personal Training Program

Motivation and accountability are two very good reasons to work with a personal trainer.
A personal trainer prepares your workout agenda, keeps you on task, and encourages you to do your best every session. You and your personal trainer work as a team to reach your goals.

At the Y, we offer workouts to suit your personal needs through one-on-one coaching or small groups of
2 to 4 members with our nationally certified trainers.

Sessions are scheduled with your personal trainer:

  • Members pay for training packages in advance of all training
  • Members purchase training packages at the Welcome Center
  • All sessions must be purchased in 1, 5, or 10 hour packages.

1 Hour: $40.00
5 Hour Package: $180.00

Active Older Adults

Get active, meet new people, and invest in your health by joining for various Active Older Adults (AOA) activities. Have fun competing and make new friends all while playing exciting games and keeping fit.

YMCA Strides for Kids 5k dash

5K Run to be held at the Emory Folmar YMCA Soccer Complex. All 5K participants will receive a dri-fit shirt to celebrate our 11th Anniversary all finishers will receive special finishers medal. Walk-in/Late registrations are welcome (but not guaranteed a shirt on race day). There will also be a 1 Mile Fun Run (no t-shirts provided with the Fun Run). Event will be held rain or shine. Proceeds benefit the Annual Support Campaign.

5k walk and run training program

This 5k program is a 12 week program that will prepare you for your first 5k. You can choose to run or walk.The group will meet on Mondays with Nikki. There will be another 2 days when the group is encouraged to get together and run on their own, for accountability. There will also be days scheduled for nutritional guidance.
