YMCA OF GREATER MONTGOMERY

YMCA BASKETBALL LEAGUE (YBL)

The basketball programs at the YMCA strive to teach children the basics of the sport while participants make new friends, stay active and learn new fundamental basketball skills. We are committed to coaching with a focus on fair play, healthy competition and parent participation. Passing, shooting and defensive skills are strengthened while the importance of physical fitness and learning team play are enhanced. While the basic skills of the game are developed through practices and games, every child learns sportsmanship and the 4 Core Values of the YMCA: Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility are stressed. Every game begins with a youth sports prayer and ends with a handshake.
