Father/child weekend

YMCA Father/Child weekend is a nationwide YMCA parent/child program designed for boys and girls ages 5-13. The Father/Child experience enables parents and kids to have fun while sharing new, healthy, learning adventures. Spending quality one-on-one time as a family will help build a strong bond of trust and memories that will last a lifetime. Become part of a program thatā€™s committed to helping you and your family grow stronger together.

Programs are offered at YMCA of Greater Montgomeryā€™s Camp Chandler. This exciting program offers fun and creative activities, including campouts scavenger hunts, and more.

Date & Time


November 23rd and 24th. Check-in is from 1-2pm on Saturday, November 23rd and will conclude with lunch on Sunday, November 24th.

Purpose

To help dads and their kids build strong, lasting relationships by spending quality time together doing fun, meaningful activities.

Activities




Over the course of the weekend, children and their dads will participate in traditional camp activities such as air rifles, archery, climbing tower, canoes, pedal boats, and fishing. This weekend also includes a campfire with Ā Ā s’mores, meaningful fireside chats, and all the wonderful camp magic that you would expect and have come to love.

Registration



The registration fee is $140 for YMCA members and $160 for non-Y members. This includes dad and one child, each additional child cost $50.

Lodging



Chandler Lodge: Father/Daughter: Fathers will stay on one side of the lodge and the girls will stay with Female Camp Counselors from YMCA Camp Chandler. These groups are separated by a common room area.


Parker Lodge: Father/Son: Fathers & sons will have the options to stay on either side of the Parker lodge.

If you have a group of 6 or more people that would like to stay in a cabin together you can select that option when you register online. Please make sure to request the families accordingly. Cabins can sleep up to 16 people and are all outfitted with air conditioning and heating. They utilize the bathhouses nearby the cabins.

If you are looking for a moreĀ rusticĀ experience you can bring your own tent. Please make sure to select this option when registering online.
