The Aquatics Director is responsible for developing, implementing, administering, and supervision of the Historic Cleveland Ave YMCA aquatics. This position will also oversee the Kershaw YMCA pool and summer camp aquatic programs and staff. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. To promote, administer and lead in the development and implementation of aquatic programs and aquatic wellness services, including swim lessons instruction, swim lesson instructor training and lifeguard training.
2. To plan, organize, implement, and evaluate all activities of aquatic’s programs for the Historic Cleveland Ave and Kershaw YMCA’s.
3. To recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise all full and part-time employees in areas of the Historic Cleveland Ave and Kershaw YMCA Aquatic operations, fill in for department/program staff as needed for the effectiveness of the program.
4. To develop, implement and monitor aquatic budget under supervision.
5. To maintain all pool operations, keep adequate records in accordance with local/State regulations, evaluate and control water chemistry to ensure no gaps in programming.
6. Develop, schedule and manage the Association monthly training calendar for association staff training in CPR/1st Aid/AED.
7. To develop, implement, and oversee the school-based “Learn to Swim” program in coordination with the Public-School System.
8. To assist in grant writing pertaining to learn to swim and safety around water programs and services.
9. To maintain knowledge of current trends in aquatics and be able to implement new programs and ideas for the success and growth of programs.
10. To serve as staff leader to provide leadership for all levels of staff and to model outstanding customer service. Provide as needed; assist in managing other areas of the facility and branch program offerings to maintain branch effectiveness.
11. Serve as a Manager on Duty as directed/scheduled.
12. To serve as part of the staff leadership team for the branch Annual Support Campaign.
13. Serve as a member of the Association Aquatic Cabinet and attend meetings as scheduled.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Required for hire: PRO-CPR, 1st Aid, AED, Oxygen, & Current YMCA or Red Cross lifeguard certification, Current Lifeguard Instructor Certification, Current WSI or YMCA Swim instructor certification.

Auxiliary Pre-K Teacher

JOB SUMMARY:

The Auxiliary Teacher is responsible for assisting Lead teacher in providing a safe and developmentally appropriate preschool program in accordance with all Office of School Readiness program guidelines. Auxiliary Teacher will have 187 days of service. 180 days of classroom instructional services provided to children and 7 days of pre/post planning and/or staff training. The teacher is expected to work and be compensated based on 7.5 hours of work per day which includes 6.5 hours of instruction and 1 hour of planning with lead teacher.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

QUALIFICATIONS:

Director of Coaching

Branch: Emory Folmar YMCA Soccer Complex

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Director of Coaching is responsible for organizing and implementing all competitive soccer programs for Alabama FC South the competitive component of the YMCA of Greater Montgomery. This position will be expected to recommend and execute strategies for player retention and recruitment, as well as manage team formation, game scheduling and competitive coach development. This position requires extended hours on the fields and traveling with teams throughout the season. The Director of Coaching will also demonstrate leadership, show enthusiasm, work efficiently while paying attention to detail and display a positive and professional attitude at all times.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Organize and implement all Alabama FC South programs. (Including tryouts, recruiting, creating teams/rosters, scheduling games, securing referees, conducting coaches meeting, coaches training and other task required to have a successful competitive program).
  2. Create partnership/relationships with local schools, churches and day care centers.
  3. Create, Direct and lead the Summer/Winter camps and clinics.
  4. Oversee player development and create club player development curriculum.
  5. Coach one Alabama FC South team if time permits.
  6. Attend Alabama FC South games to evaluate the program’s effectiveness.
  7. Volunteer to conduct clinics for local churches and other youth programs to market our competitive programs.
  8. Recruit, hire, train and supervise all Alabama FC South paid professional coaches.
  9. Design and develop marketing materials for each program.

  11. Prepare and manage the annual budget for the Alabama FC South programs within approved budget guidelines.

  14. Assist the Vice President with all major events being hosted by the YMCA of Greater Montgomery at the Emory Folmar YMCA Soccer Complex or Indoor Arena.

The Director of Early Childhood Education shall have responsibility for the day to day operation and management of the center including supervision of the planning and implementing of the children’s daily activities, supervision of staff, and responsibility for maintaining of the center. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise the daily operations of the Early Learning Child Care Center and is the main point of contact with families in the program.

• Communicate with parents on a daily basis through emails, memos and other means regarding calendar and curriculum updates, as well as any events or issues occurring in the program.

• Develop, oversee and manage all budgetary items related to the operations of the Early Learning Child Care program.

• Oversee operation of two Pre-K classrooms.

• Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule, and direct assigned staff and volunteers for area of responsibility. Review and evaluate performance on a regular basis.

• Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals; model relationship-building skills in all interactions.

• Maintain all licensing records for the Child Care Center to meet State and Local licensing requirements.

• Prepare, maintain and submit weekly reports as required. Full responsibility for meeting and maintaining the Minimum Standards.

• Maintain current blue slips and record of immunization record for each child

• Daily attendance records for family guidance must be filled out and turned in to Family Guidance Center on first of the month

• Monitor all operations, appearance and appropriateness of décor, (bulletin boards, classroom displays, learning materials, storage areas, etc.).

• Maintain classroom supplies by completing monthly inventory throughout the year.

• Review and monitor curriculum implementation.

• Coordinate and work with all other YMCA programs to ensure consistency and communication among all families.

• Work with Branch membership and marketing to ensure that all advertising, social media, public relation pieces, etc., are accurate and of the highest quality.

  1. Maintains active surveillance of the pool area.
  2. Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies, procedures, and the “safe-in-six” model; completes related reports as required.

  4. Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies, and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area.
  5. Remains calm and objective when under pressure or when challenged by others.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Sports and Teen Director is responsible for organizing and implementing all youth and adult sports, teen program development and management, volunteer and staff management (recruitment, supervision and engagement), financial development, program administration, community and school partnerships and collaborations and special events and all other assigned special events. The Sports and Teen Director must relate well to youth and teens, creating a welcoming atmosphere where teens can thrive. Additionally, this position requires heavy engagement with volunteers, community partners, parents, school personnel and board members, including comfort with public speaking. Successful candidates must possess the skills necessary to manage, develop and supervise multiple program operations and a diverse group of volunteers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1) Organize and implement all youth and adult sports programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Create a caring, friendly, fun, and safe environment that provides opportunities for members to connect, develop relationships, and achieve their wellness goals.
2. Assist the Director of Healthy Living in the implementation of effective programming that emphasizes personal service, member goal attainment, and retention.
3. Assist the Director of Healthy Living implementation and delivery of signature wellness programs and quarterly member incentive programs.
4. Participate in the efforts and work of the Annual Support Campaign.
5. Provide a clean and well-maintained wellness center, which involves knowledge of equipment preventative maintenance and repairs.
6. Provide fitness assessments and evaluations, equipment orientations/training, and communication and coaching sessions with new and current members based on monthly and annual goals.
7. Provide monthly data reports of wellness/member activity within the facility.
8. Provide interviews, tours and guidance to prospective new members as needed.
9. Meet monthly to reflect and provide insight to improve member engagement through health and wellness.
10. Serve as a member of the Wellness cabinet as appropriate.
11. Be familiar with and provide current information on YMCA programs to members, volunteers and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
