JOB DESCRIPTION
The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning assigned areas of the building. In addition, every position in the Montgomery YMCA is responsible for upholding the Judeo-Christian principles that are central to our mission by modelling behaviors that exemplify the four pillars of character – caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Wet & dry mopping, vacuuming, dusting, removing trash, general cleaning, strip and wax floors, clean windows, sanitize showers, clean empty lockers, check and correct minor maintenance problems, etc.

WEEKLY WORK SCHEDULE

  • Monday: 4pm-7pm
  • Tuesday: 4pm-7pm
  • Wednesday: 4pm-7pm

Executive Director/V.P. of Youth Development

Branch: Britton YMCA

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Executive Director/Vice President of Youth Development will lead all program efforts in the YMCA of Greater Montgomery related to teens in grades 6 through 12.  This is primarily through the Student YMCA program, YMCA Achievers and related Conferences. 

Qualifications: Bachelors degree plus two years related experience and/or training required,

This position requires skills in human relations; organization; attention to detail; development of program materials; time management skills; above average computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access database management and web-based solutions; skills using office machines; a basic knowledge of office procedures; self-motivation, self-direction and supervision of others.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Incumbent will supervise full time and part time staff and volunteers; direct promotion, mailings, inquiries & publication development; direct participant registration for Youth in Government conferences, Christian Values Conference, National Affairs Conference & other program events; be available to work during specific events and conferences as needed; assist in projects and activities as required by supervisor.

General Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Direct and supervise program activities to meet the diverse needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
  • Establish new program activities and expand programs in accordance with strategic operating plans.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures by operating the programs within the guidelines set forth by the CEO.
  • Model relationship-building skills in all interactions.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with other community organizations.
  • Promote and incorporate the YMCA four core values and character development model into all program activities.
  • Develop, implement and monitor budget in related areas of responsibility
  • Supervise YMCA Achievers Director and two Program Directors
  • Implementation of diversity and inclusion intentional strategies into all program areas
  • Lead Association level projects at the direction of Senior Vice President.

Britton YMCA

  • Lead staff and volunteers in service to teens involved in programs
  • Serve as a resource in teen related issues for Association and community
  • Work with Britton YMCA Board of Management in making decisions about program management and fundraising.
  • Visit schools and other events to build relationships with participants and parents.

Youth in Government

  • Lead statewide conferences including pre-conference meetings and preparation.
  • Attend weekend training retreats for all Youth in Government conferences. Prepare or create program materials for retreats
  • Recruit volunteers and College Staff that serve in leadership roles for conferences and programs 

Christian Values Conference

  • Lead nationwide conference of +/- 400 teens at weeklong Christian Values Conference
  • Recruit volunteers that serve in leadership roles for conference
  • Ensure curriculum, equipment, materials, and volunteers are prepared for conference
  • Along with Program Director, work with Delegation Leaders to ensure their registration is complete
  • Travel to North Carolina YMCA retreat center for weeklong conference.

Conference on National Affairs

  • Lead nationwide conference of +/- 600 teens at weeklong National Affairs Conference
  • Recruit volunteers that serve in leadership roles for conference
  • Ensure curriculum, equipment, materials, and volunteers are prepared for conference
  • Along with Program Director, work with Delegation Leaders to ensure their registration is complete
  • Compile and prepare conference materials for all participants, volunteers, and staff
  • Travel to North Carolina YMCA retreat center for weeklong conference.

Jimmy Hitchcock Award Program

  • Lead recognition program for Outstanding Christian Leadership in Athletics in high school seniors
  • Work with Board of Management and other volunteers to ensure successful and meaningful banquet and selection process
  • Ensure YMCA principles are incorporated at all levels

Required Certifications

  • CPR, First Aid and AED within 30 days of hire.
  • Child Abuse Prevention and Bloodborne Pathogens

Pre-School Teacher (2 YEAR OLDS)

Branch: East Family YMCA

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position provides direction for the children in the classroom, and implements program curriculum. Provides a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on building achievement and belonging. Conducts and organizes class activities. Models and promotes positive behavior, attitude and language among children, parents and staff. Promotes safety as an overriding objective in all programming efforts. Monitor the children, classroom, and their activities. Supervise breakfast and lunch. Hours of work: 7:00am – 12:30 pm. Monday – Friday.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Implements curriculum within the established guidelines.
2. Nurtures children through purposeful programming dedicated to building achievement and belonging in youth and relationships among youth and within families.
3. Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities including ADA accommodations where appropriate. Follows all procedures and standards.
4. Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
5. Cultivates positive relationships, conducts parent conferences, and maintains effective communication
with parents. Engages parents as volunteers and connects them to the YMCA.
6. Maintains program site and equipment.
7. Maintains required program records.
8. Attends staff meetings and staff training.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must have some child care experience
• Must be at least 19 years old
• High School or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.)
• Experience with children ranging in age 6 weeks to 5 years old.
• Knowledge of the needs, and dedication to the children in our program
• An ability to communicate in a positive way with parents
• CPR certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire
