YMCA OF GREATER MONTGOMERY

Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) YMCA safety update

YMCA of Greater Montgomery is committed to safeguarding the health of our members and staff. The National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is closely monitoring an outbreak of a respiratory disease commonly known as the coronavirus, or COVID-19. We can all do our part to prevent the spread of illness in our community.

The CDC recommends these everyday preventative actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases including:

~ Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer (60% or more alcohol).

~ Always wash your hands while preparing food, before eating, after using the toilet, after blowing your nose or coughing, after handling animal products, and after touching garbage.

~ Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

~ Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, and then dispose of the tissue.

~ Frequently disinfect touched objects and surfaces.

~ Stay home if you or your children are sick and avoid close contact with people who are sick.

In our YMCA Fitness Centers, it is expected that:

~ Members wipe down the equipment with provided towels and spray before and after every use.

The YMCA also provides hand sanitizer dispensers throughout our buildings to assist with hand cleaning.

The YMCA frequently sanitizes Child Watch and childcare rooms. Please note that there are guidelines that do not allow children who are currently ill to attend Child Watch or Child Care.
